The Speical Education Teacher is responsible for developing, maintaining and documenting all instructional and behavioral programs within the school setting. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing classroom dynamics and functioning of all staff within their classroom. The Special Education Teacher works collaboratively with the Director to maintain daily operations of the classroom.
Complete Individualized Education Plan (IEP) PROCESS, which included IEP development, collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, preparation of required paperwork and attendance at IEP meeting.
Develop lesson plans which meet the individual needs of students based o IEP goals and objectives, including modifications listed in specially designed instruction.
Submit required documentation in a timely manner
Provide and implement behavior management strategies and techniques.
Assist with tracking and documentation of student behaviors
Track and document student progress to provide grades for completion of progress reports/report cards
Qualifications: 4 year degree in Special Education from college/university with a MO Special Education Teaching Certificate (K-12).
Minimum of 2 years of experience with children with behavior/learning disorders.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with, child, parent/guardian, team members and other personnel in child's education/behavioral program.
