Apartment Manager

This position is a FT, live-in position.  Rent and utilities are included with salary.

The apartment manager is a responsible, professional position in the on-site management and supervision of the Crowhaven Apartments, a Section 8 HUD complex serving persons with developmental disabilities, in accordance with the management agreement between the Crowhaven Apartments, Inc. and the Arc of the Ozarks.

An employee in this class is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of staff at the Crowhaven Apartments.  The employee functions as a supervisor in implementing and coordinating all activities in the provision of active habilitation programming including, but not limited to, improving self-help skills, economic self-sufficiency, socialization, leisure skills, mobility, communication, personal health, and other skills leading toward increased independence.

Work involves responsibility for preparing employee work schedules, insuring staff coverage, reporting and recording observations, circulating and implementing directives, and for maintaining necessary records and reports.

The apartment manager is supervised by Director of Community Connections or other professional staff member; however, the employee is expected to exercise independent judgement and initiative within the limit of established policies and procedures.

Minimum Experience and Training Qualifications

Diploma from an accredited high school or equivalent.  One year experience providing direct care, treatment and habilitation in the human services field.  Experience in the provision of direct care, treatment and habilitation to persons who have mental retardation and other developmental disabilities is preferred.  Has demonstrated abilities to motivate and supervise others.
