Activities Center

The Activities Center is open 6 days a week for individuals in the community to use our gymnasium and heated indoor swimming pool monitored by a certified lifeguard. The gym and swimming pool contain the necessary equipment for assisting individuals with disabilities and providing a safe environment for recreation. The Education and Recreation Department provides two special events each month from September to May. Special Events include dances, movie nights, craft nights, and various outings.

No Limits

In a multi-week program for children and young adults, participants swim, play games, participate in arts and crafts, and attend field trips in the community. Training is also provided in teaching individuals to become more independent in daily living and social skills.

Enrollment for the No Limits Summer Program will begin in early February. Families and individuals not currently on the Ed/Rec mailing list should contact Mary for further information at mmargreiter@thearcoftheozarks.org or 417-864-7887. This program is desinged for those children and young adults 6-21 years of age. Please contact Mary for further information!

Saturday Recreation Program

Structured recreational programs are available for children and young adults during the school year on the first and third Saturdays of every month from 10AM-3PM. Recreational activities include arts, crafts, games, swimming, outings in the community, and other activities to teach individuals with disabilities the skills needed to better use their leisure time.

Lifetime of Learning

Adults with developmental disabilities are able to continue their education and improve their academic skills through this program. Opportunities are given to utilize their learning successfully in their every day lives. The program meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30PM-8:30PM throughout the school year.

Aquatics Program

The Aquatics Program provides opportunities to improve swim technique and establish confidence in and around the water. Open pool hours, individual and group swim instruction, individual aquatic therapy, and water aerobics are all supervised and led by a certified lifeguard. Our pool area includes a heated indoor pool, wading pool, and hot tub. Therapy devices, a water-powered lift, lifejackets, and other recreational equipment are available to enhance your swimming experience. The facility is open to the public at a minimal cost per person.
